Protecting City Streets With Sealcoat - Sept. 29th And 30th

Several years ago, the 2020 Street Sales Tax provided critical maintenance to streets in multiple areas of town. In order to protect that investment and promote the longevity of our street infrastructure, a surface preservation project will take place later this week that will apply a Reclamite seal coat; we will also treat a couple of streets that were rehabilitated in the 2016/2017 timeframe.

The application of Reclamite is a cost-effective way to seal the streets to prevent water from infiltrating the surface and damaging the core of the asphalt and the roadbed (especially during freeze/thaw cycles). Please see attached maps for project areas and the proposed time in which streets will be treated. The project will take place this Thursday (September 29th) and Friday (September 30th).

Trash Collection Instructions

Residents should place trash at the edge of the yard, but not in the curb and gutter pan.  City crews will pick trash up like normal, just at a different time of day.

Traffic Disruptions

Neighborhood residents might experience minor traffic disruption, but this should be a short time period as the sealcoat product cures quickly.
