Media Advisory: the Washburn University Department of Music to Perform Two Concerts Thursday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 6

The Washburn University department of music will perform two concerts Thursday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 6. The performances are open to the public and admission is free. 

Percussion Concert 

When: 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3

Where: White Concert Hall at Washburn University 

Details: Washburn percussion students will perform a concert Thursday, Nov. 3 in White Concert Hall on the Washburn University campus.

MOSAIC Concert 

When: 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 Where: White Concert Hall at Washburn University  Details: Washburn student musicians will perform the annual MOSAIC Concert. The concert features music from the Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Group, Woodwind Quintet, Cello Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Washburn University Choirs, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble and a piano solo and vocal solo. This concert is sponsored by the Washburn University department of music.

Symphony Orchestra - Thunder and Lightning Polka – Johann Strauss, Jr.- Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85 (Mvt. 1) – Edward Elgar

Woodwind Quintet - Girl with the FlaxenHair – Claude Debussy 

Piano - Romance in F Minor, Op. 5 – PytorTschaikovsky 

Washburn Cello Ensemble - Hoy Mondogo– Michael O’Brian 

Percussion Group - Rhythmic Ceremonial Ritual - Zachary Cairns

Vocal Solo - 'Porgi Amor’ from Le Nozzedi Figaro – Wolfgang A. Mozart 

Brass Quintet - Die Bankelsangerlieder– Anonymous 

Washburn University Choirs - Wild Forces from The Hope of Loving by Jake Runestad (b.1986) - I am the Rose of Sharon by William Billings (1746-1800)

Jazz Band  - Hava Nice Day - Sammy Nestico

Wind Ensemble - Bandancing – Jack Stamp
